Tradition Aged Oak Flooring (£49.60m² + VAT)
It took two years to perfect this solid oak floor which is now regarded as the most authentic aged and distressed oak flooring available.
First we take a perfectly machined rustic grade solid oak floor, it is then passed through our custom-made distresser three times which imparts a completely random series of indentations on the oak surface and edges. Stage two is brushing, high-speed abrasive nylon brushes remove any sharp edges and impart a slightly weather-beaten effect to the oak. Any knots and splits in the oak can be left open or filled and sanded if desired.
The final stage before pre-finishing is fuming. This is done using ammonia in a sealed chamber, this gives the oak flooring a colour that would normally take hundreds of years to achieve.
